The BGYB team would like to congratulate MED SPIRIT on finishing 3rd place in the Transatlantic Superyacht & Maxi Regatta. They arrived on 6th December in an impressive 9d 22h 18m.

The race was organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) in collaboration with the International Maxi Association (IMA) and saw six maxi yachts and superyachts leave Tenerife on 26th November bound for the YCCS Clubhouse and Marina in Virgin Gorda’s North Sound. 

BGYB are pleased to announce that Racing Yacht MED SPIRIT will be competing in the Transatlantic Superyacht & Maxi Regatta leaving November 26th 2012.

Organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) and in collaboration with the International Maxi Association, the transatlantic regatta is open to monohull yachts with an overall lenght of more than 18 m.
The fleet will set off from Santa Cruz, Tenerife and cover around 2 600 NM in  2 weeks finishing just off the Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands.

For several years, BGYB has significantly expanded its brokerage activities in the Russian market, thanks to a focused marketing effort by its Moscow-based representative, Oscar Konyukhov, son of the famous sailor and navigator, Fedor Konyukhov.
BGYB has also organised several significant charters for regular Russian clients, made of true yachtsmen, sailing enthusiasts and veritable connoisseurs. These charters were held on ships such as the prestigious and luxurious steam-ship, 78m SS DELPHINE for 10 days to celebrate a birthday and on other sailing vessels of 25 - 35m such as Swan or Wally yachts. From time to time, they have also ventured on real racing prototypes such as MED SPIRIT in major races such as les Voiles de St. Tropez, Rolex Middle Sea Race, ARC race, RORC 600 and the Palermo – Monte Carlo Regatta.
The highlight of our development in this field is certainly the victory of MED SPIRIT in the ARC 2011 Race, which was chartered by a group of Russian clients. The ARC is the largest transatlantic rally in the world and brings together over 100 sailors from all over the globe each year. The Caribbean destination of the ARC Race is Rodney Bay in St. Lucia, one of the most beautiful islands of the Lesser Antilles. The 2,700 nautical mile passage on NE trade winds takes between 12 and 24 days to complete.
