## About the Founder

Bernard Gallay (born 7 November 1959) is a French yachtsman, businessman and former professional offshore sailor. He competed twice in the Vendée Globe, the solo non-stop round-the-world race:

- **1992/93 Vendée Globe**: brought his boat home single-handedly after rig and self-steering issues
- **2000/01 Vendée Globe**: finished 8th on board *Voilà.Fr* in 111 days 16 hours 7 minutes

He also sailed in the Whitbread Round the World Race and played First Division rugby for Racing Club de France (1980–1983) before moving to Montpellier and founding Bernard Gallay Yacht Brokerage in 1994.
