Why Race the RORC Nelson’s Cup Series?
What Is the RORC Nelson’s Cup Series?
The Nelson’s Cup Series is an Antigua-based regatta combining different racing formats off the island’s southern coast. Crews move between tactical coastal and short-course racing before tackling a complete race around Antigua, creating a varied programme focused on manoeuvres, speed and strategy.
Why Race in Antigua in February?
Antigua provides a natural Caribbean racecourse with trade winds, warm water and racing areas around Falmouth and English Harbour. Ashore, the Antigua Yacht Club forms the centre of the event, bringing crews together throughout the regatta and for the daily prize-giving programme.
Which Yachts Can Enter the Series?
The 2027 series is open to IRC-rated yachts and multihulls competing under the MOCRA Rule. Maxis are also expected to feature strongly, bringing a range of high-performance sailing yachts together in the same Caribbean conditions.
How Does the Nelson’s Cup Series Finish?
The programme concludes on 19 February 2027 with the Antigua 360, a complete race around the island. It provides a longer final challenge after the preceding coastal racing and forms the climax of the four-day series.
