Exceptional Catamarans and Innovations

The International Multihull Show 2026 in La Grande Motte once again confirmed its status as a must-attend event for yachting enthusiasts and professionals. A true showcase for the industry, the show brings together the latest innovations as well as iconic models, offering a comprehensive overview of the multihull market, between performance, luxury and sustainability. The BGYB team attended the event to explore current trends, from bluewater cruising catamarans to more technical units, highlighting the ongoing premiumisation and diversification of the market.

Lagoon 620 NEO: a new generation of refitted catamarans

One of the highlights of the show was the discovery of a fully refitted Lagoon 620 under the NEO program. This innovative concept developed by Lagoon aims to give a second life to existing yachts through a complete refit carried out directly by the shipyard, ensuring a level of quality comparable to a new build.

This approach enables a comprehensive upgrade of technical systems, interior layouts and energy performance, while preserving the robustness and seaworthiness of the original design. Structured around a range of modular refit packages, the NEO program allows owners to tailor the level of refurbishment according to their needs, whether upgrading interiors or improving onboard energy efficiency.

The Lagoon 620, already established as a benchmark in the luxury catamaran market, is therefore part of a more sustainable and economically relevant approach.

In this context, it is worth noting that we currently have LADY M, a Lagoon 620, available for sale—perfectly illustrating the continued appeal of this model on the brokerage market, both for private ownership and charter use.

ALEGRIA 67 “THE BLUE DREAM”: redefining the charter experience

The visit of the Fountaine Pajot Alegria 67 “THE BLUE DREAM” highlighted the evolution of the segment towards catamarans increasingly focused on onboard experience. Generous volumes, seamless transitions between interior and exterior spaces, and high-quality finishes position this model as a benchmark in the high-end charter market.

We also observed the growing importance of onboard service quality, with increasingly skilled crews and chefs contributing to enhancing the overall guest experience.

McConaghy 75 JACK: a high-performance catamaran currently for sale

Another standout visit was the McConaghy 75 JACK, a catamaran clearly designed with performance in mind. This yacht, currently listed for sale with us, perfectly embodies the balance between lightweight construction, speed and comfort.

During our discussions with the shipyard, several insights illustrated the yacht’s capabilities, including top speeds of around 32–33 knots, a comfortable cruising speed of approximately 14 knots, and the ability to reach 20–25 knots in favourable conditions. These performances remain part of a broader design philosophy where build quality and hull optimisation are key.

The McConaghy 75 represents a new generation of multihulls, appealing both to performance enthusiasts and to owners seeking comfort and autonomy.

New shipyards and projects to watch in the multihull market

The show also highlighted several promising developments shaping the future of the sector, starting with the emergence of Simbad Yachts. Based in Alicante, this new shipyard is entering the luxury sailing catamaran segment with the launch of the SIMBAD 55 LEGEND, a 55-foot model designed to deliver a smooth and accessible sailing experience, combining modern design with integrated systems.

In a more performance-oriented approach, Black Pepper Yachts introduced its C69 project, a 69-foot catamaran currently under construction. True to the shipyard’s DNA, this semi-custom model combines elegant lines, performance and strong character, reflecting the growing trend towards more bespoke and technically advanced multihulls.
