Built in 2016 to a design by Loïc Goepfert, BE THE FIRST is a fully customised Alibi 54 catamaran, now available for sale in Marseille. Carbon construction, rotating mast and retractable drive make her a performance catamaran engineered to be the lightest Alibi 54 ever built.
Alibi 54 Catamaran for Sale: BE THE FIRST
Built in 2016 at the Alibi shipyard in Thailand and completed in France, BE THE FIRST is a 17.37 m catamaran designed with Loïc Goepfert, the yard’s founder and naval architect. Her epoxy-infused hull and extensive carbon structure, from bulkheads to bowsprit, were engineered to save every kilo. A rotating carbon mast, asymmetrical daggerboards and a retractable drive system deliver reported speeds of up to 27 knots, while lithium batteries and solar panels support autonomous cruising. Three cabins accommodate up to six guests, and two 40 hp Volvo Penta engines complete the package.
A Lightweight Carbon Alibi 54 Catamaran
BE THE FIRST is built in epoxy-infused composite, with carbon used for the bulkheads, bowsprit, cross beam and superstructure. A highly refined Alibi 54 designed for lightness.
Rotating Mast and Asymmetrical Daggerboards
A rotating carbon mast, 3 m asymmetrical daggerboards and a retractable drive system reduce drag, while retractable rudder blades complete the set-up. Speeds of up to 27 knots have been reported.
Off-Grid Cruising Capability
Mastervolt lithium batteries, 12 solar panels and a 200 l/h watermaker allow generator-free living at anchor, with a generator available if needed.
Three Cabins for Up to Six Guests
Three cabins accommodate up to six guests, including an owner’s suite in the starboard hull. The interior is trimmed in Burmese teak, with air conditioning and a washing machine on board.

BE THE FIRST is now available for sale and lies in Marseille, France. This 17.37 m catamaran, with an 8.36 m beam, sails under the Austrian flag.
