Summer 2025 Crew
Step aboard CHAMPAGNE HIPPY, a 25-metre Oyster 825 designed for long-distance cruising and a high-end onboard lifestyle. Built by Oyster Yachts this beautifully refitted sailing yacht, features advanced sailing systems, a dual helm cockpit, and a hydraulic bathing platform for easy access to the water. Her spacious aft deck includes a BBQ and outdoor fridge, ideal for alfresco dining, while the raised salon is flooded with natural light from large skylights. Accommodating up to 8 guests in 3 ensuite cabins, she offers air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a bright, modern interior.
This season, CHAMPAGNE HIPPY welcomes a new crew of three professionals. With backgrounds ranging from ocean racing and engineering to hospitality and fine dining, they combine technical expertise with a guest-focused mindset.
Meet the Crew
Christian
Captain
With over 25 years in yachting and more than 100,000 sea miles, Christian brings extensive experience on yachts across the Med, Caribbean, and Atlantic. He has overseen new builds, restorations, and regatta campaigns – including a win at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez. He has captained yachts up to 33m, including several Oysters. Onboard CHAMPAGNE HIPPY, he’s responsible for navigation, operations, and guest safety, running smooth charters with precision and care.
Andrew
Deckhand & Engineer
Andrew has over 20,000 nautical miles under his belt with vast experience in onboard systems and deck operations. He’s worked as deck engineer on S/Y IDUNA and supported expedition cruises in New Zealand. Formerly a diagnostic radiographer, he brings a calm, methodical approach and technical confidence. On CHAMPAGNE HIPPY, he maintains the yacht’s systems, assists with mooring and sailing, and ensures smooth day-to-day functionality.
Maria
Chef & Stewardess
Maria has worked on yachts up to 50m, including S/Y IDUNA, M/Y FONERS, and S/Y ARESTEAS. With a degree in tourism and experience in Michelin-listed restaurants, she blends strong hospitality skills with a growing culinary repertoire. On CHAMPAGNE HIPPY, she manages the interior and prepares all meals, offering fresh, seasonal cuisine and attentive service to ensure guests feel cared for throughout their stay.
