VALERIANE: BGYB Announces the Sale of the Daniel Tortarolo Ketch
VALERIANE, a bluewater ketch by Daniel Tortarolo, has just been sold by BGYB. At 12.25m, built for long-distance cruising and shallow-water exploration alike, she begins a new chapter of sailing.
VALERIANE: Sold by BGYB
Designed and built in 2012 by naval architect and builder Daniel Tortarolo, VALERIANE is a one-off bluewater ketch in glass-and-foam composite polyester. Her lifting keel, which reduces draft to 3.00m in the raised position, lets her explore open water and shallow anchorages alike. At 12.25m long, with a 3.84m beam and a 5.5-tonne displacement, she is currently based in La Grande-Motte, France. BGYB is pleased to announce the sale of VALERIANE, opening a new chapter of cruising for her new owner.
A bluewater ketch with a lifting keel
Designed and built in 2012 by naval architect and builder Daniel Tortarolo, VALERIANE is a one-off bluewater ketch. Her lifting keel, which reduces draft to 3.00m in the raised position, lets her explore open water and shallow anchorages alike.
A complete and versatile ketch rig
The aluminium SOROMAP rig combines a battened mainsail, furling genoa, staysail and furling reacher, complemented by a spinnaker for light airs. A 40hp SOLE Diesel engine with a folding propeller provides auxiliary power.
Range built for long-distance cruising
With 110 litres of fuel and 110 litres of fresh water on board, VALERIANE offers a range of around 300 nautical miles at a 6-knot cruising speed, enough to string together long passages with ease.
A functional three-cabin interior
The interior layout features three open cabins, a saloon with a navigation station, an equipped galley and a bathroom, a configuration built for extended life on board in a sober, efficient spirit.
