YQUEM, a fully refitted Bill Tripp sloop

With a length of 31.70 metres, a beam of 7.20 metres and a draft of 3.80 metres, YQUEM offers the volumes of a bluewater cruising yacht built for open water. Her epoxy composite hull, reinforced with Kevlar, and her teak deck give her a classic presence that time has not dated. The interior, signed by Donal Starkey, comprises an owner's cabin with en suite shower and bath, together with three double cabins each with its own bathroom. YQUEM sleeps up to eight guests, with three crew cabins for up to five. Formerly Lunar Mist and then Cinderella II, she now lies in Valencia, Spain, under Maltese commercial flag.

A Bill Tripp Sloop Built in 1992 by Windship-Trident

YQUEM is a custom cutter rigged sloop drawn by naval architect Bill Tripp and built in 1992 by the American yard Windship-Trident. Measuring 31.70 metres in length and 7.20 metres in beam, she has an epoxy composite hull reinforced with Kevlar over a PVC foam core, combining lightness with genuine strength. Her teak deck and classic lines give her a presence the years have not worn away. Formerly Lunar Mist and then Cinderella II, this sailing yacht now carries the name of one of the great Sauternes estates.

A Comprehensive Refit from May 2025 to August 2026

Following twelve months at Solent Refit in 2012, YQUEM underwent a second comprehensive refit between May 2025 and August 2026, reaching hydraulics, electrics, plumbing, propulsion, rigging, navigation electronics, interiors and deck fittings. Her 460 HP LUGGER main engine was fully refurbished and showed zero hours in August 2026. A new CASAPPA power take-off, installed on the gearbox, now drives the bow thruster, windlass, genoa furler, autopilot and winches, all governed by a custom-made control unit. Hull, keel, mast, boom, rigging and shaft have each been independently surveyed.

A SPARCRAFT Carbon Rig and 535 m² of Sail

Her SPARCRAFT carbon mast was built by Omohundro, born of the partnership the two yards formed for the 1992 America's Cup; thoroughly surveyed, it retains a notable solidity. The Park Avenue composite boom houses the stowed mainsail and makes handling it remarkably straightforward. New Spectra running rigging, a 2026 SANDERS mainsail and a RECKMANN hydraulic furler complete a sail plan of 535 m² upwind and 1,110 m² downwind. Under power she holds 9 knots cruising for a range of 1,900 nautical miles, enough for Mediterranean seasons and ocean passages alike.

Eight Guests in Four En Suite Double Cabins

Her deck is arranged around two separate cockpits, a layout that protects guest privacy: amidships, a sheltered cockpit with two dining tables; aft, the working cockpit with twin wheels. The deck house opens onto 360-degree views, a natural meeting point between deck life and saloon. Repainted white and fitted with an additional window, new couches and reworked lighting during the refit, the saloon combines lounge and dining area for eight guests. The owner's cabin is a large double with en suite shower and bath, joined by three double cabins each with its own bathroom. The crew have three separate cabins, a crew mess and a separate entrance from the aft cockpit.
