A 37-Metre Sloop Designed by Bill Dixon for Holland Jachtbouw

SWAGGER is a custom sloop delivered in 2006 by the Dutch yard Holland Jachtbouw to a design by the British studio Dixon Yacht Design. Measuring 37 metres in length and 8.15 metres in beam, she was built as a one-off and never turned into a series. Weight drove the entire project: hull and superstructure in Alustar, an aluminium alloy chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio, with keel and ballast bulb shaped after an extensive tank testing campaign. Formerly A SULANA, she displaces 154 tonnes at half load and cruises at 11 knots, with a range of 2,700 nautical miles at 10 knots.

A 2023/2024 Refit with a Brand New Main Engine

Consistently maintained and upgraded by a professional crew, SWAGGER has been through three successive refit campaigns: 2016/2017, 2021/2022 and 2023/2024. The latest, carried out in Denia, saw the installation of a brand new Scania DI13 550 hp main engine, a new shaft and a Brunton Varifold propeller, along with a complete overhaul of the ZF gearbox and of both 45 kW Northern Lights generators. A new North 3Di Blade sail, the installation of Starlink and fresh antifouling completed the work.

A Carbon Marten Spars Rig and an In-Boom Furling Mainsail

Her carbon mast by Marten Spars, a yard now part of Southern Spars, carries a 370 sqm in-boom furling mainsail. The North Sails 3Di inventory includes a 298 sqm non-overlapping Blade headsail, a 457 sqm reacher and a 956 sqm MPS. Semi-recessed headsail furlers, deck-recessed genoa tracks and a through-hull anchor system give her a perfectly flush deck, while Lewmar deck winches and captive winches are driven by a hydraulic system upgraded in 2020.

Seven Guests in Three Cabins, with Five Crew

The interior, entrusted to John Munford Design, combines pear and wenge woods with fabric and leather finishes. The raised saloon uses the full beam of the yacht: a large low seating area to port, a dining table to starboard and a self-service bar. The owner's suite forward features two double beds set outboard, a desk and vanity and a private ensuite; two twin cabins sit either side of the mast, one of them fitted with a pullman berth for a seventh guest. The crew area, aft of the saloon, sleeps five. On deck, the sunken centre cockpit is sheltered by a fully retractable bimini and dodger, and the aft platform gives access to the water and to the Castoldi JT 14 tender.

SWAGGER sails under the British flag and currently lies in Cannes, on the French Riviera. Classed Lloyd's 100A1 SSC Yacht Mono G6 LMC and MCA certified for commercial operation up to 150 nautical miles from a safe haven, she carries 14,000 litres of fuel and 4,000 litres of fresh water, retractable Lewmar bow and stern thrusters, an HEM watermaker and a Tyco Novec 1230 fire suppression system.
