Sailing Yacht · 25,00 m ALTAIR
Elegant and classic appearance with top comfort and seaworthiness. Highest quality construction according to the Germanische Lloyd classification standards by Gouwerok yard and completed by the Royal Nordia van Dam, one of the top Dutch quality yards.
Her first owner developed this custom built Nordia in close cooperation with the Nordia van Dam shipyard in 1987, according to his specific and demanding needs for a quality and comfortable ocean cruising sailing yacht. This owner registered the ‘Cornelia of Pretoria’ under UK flag and sailed her for 30 years, all around the world, while maintaining her in top condition.
In 2017 the current owner acquired the Nordia from the first owner including all documentation of the initial building and all modifications and maintenance afterwards. The new owner was specifically searching a yacht with all the quality aspects of top Dutch yards as the perfect candidate for a total refit.

Special Features :
During the 2017-2020 refit in Zaandam, The Netherlands, the base of a quality aluminum ocean going sailing yacht was renewed to the current standards on systems, electronics, navigation systems and interior. The refit was also driven to achieve an MCA certification according to MGN-280 code and Malta Yacht code, to be able to offer commercial operation in unrestricted area’s (ocean). Also was chosen to certify according to European CE standards with a post construction certificate. Both codes were surveyed and approved by Mecal UK and ECB, The Netherlands.
After the refit the yacht was named ‘Altaïr’ and registered under the Dutch flag. Due to the MCA and Malta yacht code standards, future owners can choose to re-register under a UK or Malta flag to be able to perform commercial operations, such as charter.
