This Italian island is a classic yacht charter destination, with a beautiful coastline intersected by numerous accommodating and picturesque ports, Sardinia knows exactly how to offer charterers the perfect cruising experience.
Idyllic yachting in Sardinia
Its sandy beaches and hiking trails allow this charter holiday destination to combine relaxation and adventure. The island’s history is quintessentially Mediterranean and her Italian roots mean the destination combines great food, wine and climate with a markedly Sardinian rocky landscape.
Sardinia's top 3 things to do
We have selected our top three activities, not to be missed when you charter a yacht in Sardinia.
The stunning site of the Isola Tavolara rock is most beautifully observed from the sea. The waters around the rock are gorgeous and it’s the perfect place to scuba dive or enjoy a sunset dinner.
02 Porto Cervo
Sardinia's most glamorous setting, Porto Cervo is a luxury hotspot. Her ports are filled with the world's finest superyachts and on shore you will find Costa Smeralda's most popular and highly regarded restaurants, bars and shops.
There is nothing quite like the tranquility of the Maddalena islands. Uninhabited secluded islands are intersected by sparkling blue lagoons, sandy beaches and transparent waters.

Day 1 Bonifacio
The most southerly point of the island of Corsica, Bonifacio lies on the edge of a white rock cliff. The old city extends down to the port into a stunning sea inlet. There are many little bays around Bonifacio where the yacht can anchor and discover the beaches and caves with smaller water crafts: kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, tender … The top of the city offers amazing views of the straight and Sardinia Islands.
Day 2 Lavezzi Islands
Sailing from Bonifacio to one of the many anchorages of the Lavezzi Islands would only take a couple of hours, where you may enjoy a quiet lunch and spend the afternoon swimming in the crystal clear waters between the rocks eroded by the winds.
Day 3 Maddalena
Set sail from the Lavezzi to the Maddalena Island tacking around the rocks of this magnificent natural reserve and drop the anchor in on of the well sheltered bays for a relaxed afternoon swimming and snorkelling. Before sunset, weigh anchor and sail to Porto Pollo for the night.
Day 4 Porto Pollo
If you are passionate about windsurf and kitesurf and the mistral is at the rendez-vous, this is one of the best spots on the island! After a day of adrenaline, relax and enjoy the sunset in the bay.
Day 5 Porto Cervo
After breakfast, set sails and cruise around the Islands of the Maddalena up to the West in Porto Cervo. Anchor just outside, in the Golf Pevero or book a berth inside the Costa Smeralda Yacht Club and enjoy the fabulous restaurants, clubs and shops of the glamorous village.
Day 6 Isola Tavolara
Sailing down the West Coast offers a wide range of sceneries, islands, rocks and little bays and white sandy beaches where you can stop for a swim and a lunch, before reaching the massive rock of Isola Tavolara. The waters around the rock are gorgeous and it’s the perfect place to enjoy a last sunset dinner.
Day 7 Olbia
Little sailing trip after breakfast from the Island back to Olbia harbour, close to the airport.
